So far I have been loving the tech leggings. I was concerned about the low back rise initially, but I've only really found it to be annoying once or twice. It rides below the waist belt of my harness, which is actually more comfortable than the other leggings I have worn - which rub against my harness where the seam lays. I'd rather have the comfort and flash some skin once in a while than the discomfort of rubbing against a high waisted seam! Other than that, I have put these things through the ringer trad climbing and sport climbing, and they've performed really well. No tears in the softer material like my other climbing leggings, and then knee/buttpads barely scuff. I have looked far and wide for durable climbing leggings, and these are truly one of a kind. Plus, they're a rad color!! Finally no more earth tones!!! I will be buying another pair as soon as my size comes back into stock. Thanks NW Alpine, keep it up. More bright colors would be SICK!!
I absolutely LOVE the base fabric and the reinforcement panels (plus the red color!) so much on these leggings I know I’ll enjoy them often, but I completely agree with the previous reviewer - the back rise is too short. With a minor fit rebalance so the back seat/waistband is higher up on the back, it’d be a perfect fit. I also sorta wish the knee panels extended just a little farther down on the knee, but I’m also pretty tall (5’10”) so that may just be how I fit them. Love the length - it’s perfect - long enough but not too long. I can’t wait to get these out on the rock.
The material is stretchy and durable. Love the reinforced seams and abrasion resistant areas. The waist is not designed for having a butt, though. The back is lower than the front and you can't pull it up because the abrasion panel doesn't stretch. Also would prefer just a stretchy waistband over the cord. A half stretchy waistband with a stretchy cord is not the best design for a close fit. It doesn't actually stay tight to the body and makes weird lines on your hips.
