I’ve hiked and snowshoed several times in my new NW Alpine hoody and have to say it’s the most versatile base layer I’ve owned in a long time. Lightweight, warm, and long enough to cover my bottom, but loose fitting enough that it doesn’t chafe. Five star hoody!
United StatesAlready disappointed by the fabric change
Just got the emerald color today and in comparison to the previous Black Spyder hoodies I have, this one isn't as soft and feels much thinner/less warm. The previous ones rapidly became my favorite all-around hoodies- they were amazing for both climbing and belaying on multipitch climbs, mountain runs, and even as a base layer for skiing. Based on the changes in the fabric, I'm not optimistic this will be as great.

I’m 5’7, 135lb, 34b and got the small. I really like how it fits except the upper arms are quite snug. I can wear a thin baselayer under it with no problem except in the arms where it’s tight. I may get another one in medium so I have the option of wearing a heavier layer underneath on colder days.
