FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Northwest Alpine Introduces World’s Lightest Waterproof/Breathable Jacket

Portland, OR, 07/03/2012 – After extensive testing, NW Alpine has finished pre-production manufacturing of a new ultralight jacket. The Eyebright Jacket weighs in at 5.0 ounces, making it the lightest fully-featured waterproof and breathable jacket available on the market today.

Through extensive experimentation, the NW Alpine product development team created a new, unique method for seam-sealing the jacket’s non-woven fabric.

“In terms of durability and tear resistance, the fabric we’re using on the Eyebright Jacket outperforms any other ultralight waterproof/breathable fabric available,” notes NW Alpine founder Bill Amos. “A jacket designed for alpine climbing has to be able to withstand the rigors of the pursuit. We made this jacket because it's exactly what we want to wear when we climb.”

The piece will be available in limited numbers for wholesale and consumer sales for Fall 2012.

Established in 2010, NW Alpine is a premier provider of apparel for alpine climbing. Based in Portland, Oregon, NW Alpine invests in the local economy and manufactures clothing exclusively in the USA.
